Our rescue devotes its efforts to the Rottweiler, but when circumstances allow, will save deserving dogs of any breed we refer to as “Not-weilers from certain death in shelters.

Pet Project is a newly formed organization dedicated to helping animals at risk, and educating the public about responsible pet care. We especially want to target schools for education in pet ownership. Our shelter houses pets for adoption while our sanctuary houses animals deemed unadoptable. We even house several dogs abandoned by another "rescue". One of our goals is to initiate a trap/alter/release program for feral cats.

Friends of San Clemente Animals (FOSCA) is a non-profit volunteer support group for the San Clemente-Dana Point Animal Shelter. We share support for the shelter with the help of Dana Point's volunteer group, Animal Rescue Foundation of Dana Point (ARF). Our special shelter helps provide food, housing, exercise, medical care and love for our city's lost, abandoned, and sometimes abused, companion animals until permanent loving homes have been found... no matter how long it takes.

Lost and abandoned animals have a second chance at a good life– thanks to the Pet Project Foundation and the San Clemente-Dana Point Animal Shelter. The mission of the Pet Project Foundation is “to enhance the quality of life of all companion animals in a pro-humane manner through compassion, responsibility, education and service. Nowhere is this mission better exemplified than through our ongoing support of the shelter. This special shelter provides food, housing, exercise, medical care, and love for homeless animals until they are reunited with their owners or permanent, loving homes are found.

PetPromise takes in as many homeless animals as we can and places them in volunteer foster homes until a permanent home can be found. Without foster homes, we cannot save dogs and cats who deserve a second chance at life. Until we can end the pet overpopulation problem, foster homes will serve the most important function in saving these abandoned pets and ending euthanasia.

Pet Refuge is a not-for-profit "no-kill" animal shelter run by volunteers for the placement of unwanted and abandoned pets into responsible permanent homes. There is a waiting list to intake all animals that come into our shelter. The cat waiting list runs an average of 2-4 months long and the dog waiting list runs an average of 1-3 months long. We recommend that while you have your cat or dog on our waiting list, you also try other options in trying to place them such as run an ad in the newspaper (please do not advertise for free). Also, check with family, friends, co-workers ect., to see if they can help you out. Screen potential interested parties for your pet and ask for references including a Vet reference. Pet Refuge will try to help as many cats and dogs as possible; however, pet overpopulation is a problem in our community. PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO DO THE SAME!

Pet Rescue has been helping abandoned animals and finding homes for them since 1982. We are particular about finding the right match between people and pets. We take in only as many as we can properly take care of and don't kill any.
