In the year 1959, a small group of animal lovers joined together to help the homeless dogs and cats of Clark County, Ohio. Land was purchased, and a welfare farm was established. we feed and shelter approximately 175 animals. These animals are all spayed and neutered, and they have all their shots. While our goal is to adopt all the animals at our farm, a shortage of good homes results in a number of permanent residents at the farm

Founded 1996 by Dr. Jacqueline Metzler, the Pet Adoption and Lifecare Society received non-profit status in January 2000. Since then, we have placed hundreds of cats and dogs into loving homes every year. Our animals are temporarily loved and cared for in foster homes until permanent homes can be found. All of our cats are FeLV/FIV negative unless otherwise noted under special needs. They are adopted out free of parasites, including fleas and internal parasites. They have also had all vaccines for which they are eligible. Some of our animals have incurable diseases and are placed in hospice care where care is given for life if a loving home that is able to care for special needs animals cannot be found.

We are an no-kill, 501(c)3 org. We have no facility, but are connected by foster homes who love and nurture the animals in our care. The Paris-Henry County Humane Society has been organized to be a network of individuals whose purpose is to prevent cruelty, abuse, and neglect of animals and to promote awareness of animal issues. The Humane Society will strive to assure that the animals' interest are gauranteed by society through ongoing campaigns directed to the public to raise interest, promote responsible pet care, stress the importance of spaying and neutering your pets and to assure the animals that we share our world with a more kind and safer future.

Our Shih Tzu can come from a variety of situations... We get dogs out of Shelters, owner turn-ins, dogs found running loose, dogs who are abandoned because of their owners death...etc. Rather than leave these dogs to die in a shelter, we take them in and address their needs. We will treat any medical condition the dog has. Then we spay and/or neuter every dog (no exceptions), bring him or her current on all shots, and begin it on heartworm and flea protection. The dog is bathed, groomed, and put into a foster home for evaluation. Each dog stays in their foster home until they are adopted.

Doggy Doodles Adoptions animal rescue consists of an all volunteer organization, with people who are dedicated to rescue operations of St. Louis' Homeless Pet Population.
DDA is also an IRS approved 501C3 Not-For-Profit Charitable Organization. We are an in home foster care system, keeping animals out of kennels and facilities to ensure the best social interaction possible for homeless pets in need. We focus on educating our adopters and the community about spaying and neutering of animals, and why it is so critical for both the healthy life of animals, as well as to help reduce the number of overpopulated domestic animals in the US.
