Perkins County Animal ShelterWe are a no kill shelter so many pets are here long term. All animals are spayed or neutered BEFORE adoption to help reduce overpopulation. We love to send toys and a blanket home with each new adopter and always need bedding, esp. for large dogs. Old blankets work wonderfully. Happy Valley-Goose Bay S.P.C.AThe Happy Valley-Goose Bay S.P.C.A. is located in Goose Bay, Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Labrador is part of Newfoundland, but where Newfoundland is an island, Labrador is located right next to Quebec, Canada. Our Shelter is located in a very remote area. It is a 36 hr. drive (one way) to the nearest major centre (Halifax) and the only means of travel out of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is one gravel road or by air. Air travel is extremely expensive as is shipping. We can not, therefore, ship dogs to any locations other than Newfoundland or Halifax. All shipping costs must be incurred by the person adopting an animal. SPCA- St. Johns, NewfoundlandThe S.P.C.A. in St. John’s is one of seven branches in Newfoundland and Labrador. We are operated by a Board of Directors. We are not government funded, but exist through the kind support of many people who make donations and support our ongoing fund raising events. We have over sixty volunteers who work at the shelter to care for the animals and provide them with much needed T.L.C. Our shelter director is a volunteer who has faithfully maintained the operation of the SPCA for over twenty-five years. We have 5 full-time and 2 part-time staffR.C.A.F.
