Turtle Gardens Animal ShelterTurtle Gardens has operated for over 20 years as a small, private shelter that rescues homeless dogs in Northern BC. The dogs come from all circumstances - former family dogs, pups from unplanned litters and sadly, dogs from more neglectful situations. Turtle Gardens takes them all in and rehomes almost all of them. Those few listed as unadoptable due to behaviour or health are kept in safety for the remainder of their lives. Vancouver City PoundWe are a city-run, no-kill dog shelter with an active volunteer and fostering program. We spay/neuter all animals before they leave and always have an assortment of great dogs available for adoption. The volunteers often give the dogs blankets at night, so donations of snuggles and anything else that will make the dogs happy are always appreciated. Vancouver's municipally run shelter is a pro-adoption shelter. Dogs that are adoptable or treatable are not put down.
