In the year 1959, a small group of animal lovers joined together to help the homeless dogs and cats of Clark County, Ohio. Land was purchased, and a welfare farm was established. we feed and shelter approximately 175 animals. These animals are all spayed and neutered, and they have all their shots. While our goal is to adopt all the animals at our farm, a shortage of good homes results in a number of permanent residents at the farm

While we try to place all adoptable animals into homes or with rescue groups, we do have to euthanize animals when space constraints require it. Since our Humane Society is also contracted to provide animal control services for our county, we can never be sure of the number of incoming animals at any given time. Therefore, please notify the shelter at once if you have interest in one of our featured animals

Founded 1996 by Dr. Jacqueline Metzler, the Pet Adoption and Lifecare Society received non-profit status in January 2000. Since then, we have placed hundreds of cats and dogs into loving homes every year. Our animals are temporarily loved and cared for in foster homes until permanent homes can be found. All of our cats are FeLV/FIV negative unless otherwise noted under special needs. They are adopted out free of parasites, including fleas and internal parasites. They have also had all vaccines for which they are eligible. Some of our animals have incurable diseases and are placed in hospice care where care is given for life if a loving home that is able to care for special needs animals cannot be found.
