Action For Animals Humane SocietyAction For Animals Humane Society, founded in 1983, is a non-profit, non-governmental humane organization. Our primary function is to care for the strayed, abused and abandoned animals of Westmoreland County. AFAHS provides temporary shelter, interim medical care, feeding, training and eventually, placement in permanent homes. We employ Westmoreland County's only Humane Police Officer to enforce the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania concerning "cruelty to animals".
