Friends of Abandoned PetsFriends of Abandoned Pets (FOAP) is an independent non-profit organization in Ottawa, ON Canada. We are a group of dedicated, caring people who love animals. FOAP is sensitive to the plight of abandoned, homeless cats and dogs in our area, and are prepared to give our time and energy to help them. We are all volunteers. Our reward is to see a frightened, often desperately thin, sometimes injured, homeless cat or dog blossom into a self-confident, happy pet in a loving home. We all help in our own way. Since we do not have a building in which to house animals, they stay in temporary foster homes until a permanent adoptive home is found. FOAP is always in need of caring foster homes, who are willing to provide food, love, and shelter; FOAP pays for veterinarian costs while they are under foster care. Ottawa Humane AKA Rescue Cat & Dog Program- OttawaThe OHS cares for injured, lost and homeless animals that are brought to the municipal animal shelter by Municipal By-Law Officers, the general public and/or picked up by our 24 hour Emergency Animal Services. The shelter is at 101 Champagne Avenue South.
