We are a county facility operated by the local government. If you are intersted in an animal, please call us (770-954-2100). Dogs and cats may arrive here in a number of ways. They may be strays that were picked up, or they may be owner give ups (that is a person who owned the animal gave-up ownership by bringing the animal into our shelter). We do not know the personality or history on any animal, and we do not know the health of any animal. We do not offer refunds or cover vet costs after the animal has been adopted.

The Newnan-Coweta Humane Society-Shelter Rescue is a Georgia state-licensed humane society. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
Shelter Rescue was started in February 1997 with the focus of reducing the number of pets euthanized at local animal control facilities. We do this by rescuing, arranging foster home space and finding homes for a limited number of these pets. We also help increase adoptions at the animal control facilities by publicizing these animals on our websites.

To work to end the suffering of dogs and cats resulting from abuse, neglect, ignorance and pet overpopulation. To advocate the humane treatment of animals through (1) rescue of abandoned, neglected, and abused animals; (2) a spay/neuter assistance program; (3) promoting community awareness through humane education and (4) initiation and support of positive changes in local community municipal codes and state law regarding animal protection . Many of the animals that become a part of our program would not survive without our help. We rescue injured animals that are unable to get the help they require to heal and we rescue abused animals that don't know comfort and kindness and love
