PLEASE understand, our ultimate goal is to reduce the number of unwanted cats, and to do that we must start by reducing the number of kittens born each year. Always remember this: Even if your cat has just one litter of kittens, and you are lucky enough place all of them in loving homes, please know that each one of your kittens has taken the place in a home where another unplanned, unwanted kitten could be living, instead of succumbing to a harsh death on the streets or being euthanized in a shelter due to overcrowding.

If you are interested in adopting a dog or cat, please email the contact listed on that animal's page. We do not operate a shelter or kennel, so each animal is in a foster home. You can arrange to meet the animal by contacting it's foster home. Thank you!

Georgia Samoyed Rescue is mostly referral, but we have and still do rescue samoyeds of all ages from shelters, and bad situations. All dogs are spay/neutered and have their shots updated before being rehomed. Sick shelter dogs are vetted and stay in a foster situation until they are ready to be adopted.

The Humane Society of Morgan County does not have a shelter, all of the animals we offer for adoption are fostered at our homes. We take great pride in knowing our fosterlings' personalities. Knowing the animal before placement helps us to place them in a home that fits the needs of both the person(s) adopting as well as the needs of the pet.

An animal becomes a rescue candidate for many reasons--something may have happened to their owner, they could be injured, abandoned, or perhaps someone simply decided that they didn't want them anymore. For whatever reason, there are thousands of homeless/unwanted animals out there in need of help. Rescuers spend countless hours helping these animals, and it is heart breaking, expensive work. There are hundreds of animals put down each day because there aren't enough helping hands, enough good homes. Are you ready to open your heart and home to a rescued animal?
