Bridgeport Cat ProjectThe Bridgeport Cat Project is not a shelter, but a Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) program which is used by rescue groups worldwide. Since the Projects inception in 1994, we have neutered approximately 4000 male and female cats, eliminating the needless suffering of hundreds of thousands of their potential offspring. The year 2000 found us especially busy, having altered 500+ cats. The Cat Project currently runs with the help of 10 volunteers, who trap and transport feral cats to veterinarians and back to their original colony, oversee the 24 hour hotline in weekly shifts, foster recuperating cats until they can be returned to the wild, coordinate fund-raising events and foster cats that can be adopted to a prospective owner.
