Purr Paws Rescue, Inc., is a non-profit, no-kill, cat rescue in Northwest Houston.
We do not have a separate shelter, and all cats in the program are in foster homes. We do not euthanize FIV or FeLV positive cats, nor otherwise healthy cats
Only in situations, with cats whose illness' or condition's result in a largely decreased quality of life, is euthanasia discussed.

We are dedicated to the principle of rescuing stray, unwanted, abused, and lost animals (cats and dogs) for the purpose of rehabilitation and recycling through regular adoption efforts. In addition, AURORAS believes community education is necessary to inform the public of the importance of spaying and neutering pets.

I take in the unwanted pets or homeless, get them vet checked, wormed, shots.Get them started on a heartworm & flea treatment programs. If they have heartworms I try to get donations to help pay for the treatments. If the pets are old enough I get them spayed or neutered before they leave.I teach the new owners how to care for there pets. I do put some in training classes so that they are better off to get adopted.I do my best for everyone to be healthy before they leave here and go to there new homes.

Pet Project is a newly formed organization dedicated to helping animals at risk, and educating the public about responsible pet care. We especially want to target schools for education in pet ownership. Our shelter houses pets for adoption while our sanctuary houses animals deemed unadoptable. We even house several dogs abandoned by another "rescue". One of our goals is to initiate a trap/alter/release program for feral cats.

Whiskerville is a 501c3 nonprofit animal welfare organization formed in February of 2000. Our primary goals are to work toward eliminating the needless suffering of stray domestic animals by rescuing them off the streets, providing necessary healthcare, and placing them in loving and responsible homes through our active adoption program. In addition, we strive to educate the public to vaccinate, spay, and neuter domestic animals and eliminate euthanasia as a method of animal population control, and warn the public to research the policies, procedures, and practices of any animal control facility or shelter before surrendering an animal to them.
