Happy Dog AdoptionHappy Dog Adoption is dedicated to placing dogs that were scheduled to be euthanized and rescued by Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch, into caring, loving permanent homes. All these dogs were discarded, neglected or abandoned by previous owners who no longer want or can keep them, or did not take the responsibilty of being a pet owner seriously. All our dogs have been wormed, medically treated, had their Parvo/distemper, Bordetella & rabies shots, are spayed/neutered, on heartworm & flea prevention, and are ready for their second chance at love in their forever home. Thundering Paws Animal SanctuaryOur animals come from local shelters and from their former guardians; some just walk up the driveway. A bout 75% are adoptable - we find them homes. Others are feral (wild) cats who have had no positive contact with humans. They, too, have good lives at Thundering Paws. Some animals arrive fearful and cannot be adopted until they learn what it's like to be touched by gentle hands. Others need time to recover from injuries or illness before they go to their new homes. While spay/neuter is the only permanent solution to the overpopulation of companion animals, Thundering Paws wants animals who are already born to have full, happy lives. Newcomers are quarantined until they are tested for FeLV and FIV and then are socialized under supervision with the other cats. They all get along great like a big family. Elgin Humane Society Adoption CenterThe Elgin Humane Society is a non-profit group dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, and the extension of humane education. It is the policy of the Society to promote humane care and treatment for all animals in Elgin and in the Elgin area; to seek to assist the return of lost animals to their owners; and to seek suitable homes for animals without owners. The Society assists the Elgin Animal Control Officer and the Elgin Animal Shelter related to the mission statement above. We provide monetary and non-monetary donations to the shelter to benefit the animals. We also provide volunteers to assist in caring for the animals in the shelter.
