St. Francois SocietyIn 1983, in St. Francois County, Missouri, volunteers set up a small organization to rescue injured wild animals and transport them to appropriate wildlife rescue groups. Volunteers also responded to calls on abandoned, ill, and injured companion animals in need of veterinary care and homes. Some twenty years after these modest beginnings, the organization expanded into St. Louis to increase its adoption efforts. As we are new to this area, our name is not as well known. Since 1991, we have rescued and placed thousands of abandoned, abused, stray and shelter cats and kittens in St. Louis, Missouri and surrounding areas. After their rescue, the cats and kittens are provided medical care, tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, micro-chipped and spayed or neutered. Homeward Bound Humane SocietyWe are a Missouri not-for-profit corporation, an IRS 501(C)(3) charitable organization, and we are state licensed. We are an entirely volunteer group working for the welfare of unwanted and/or neglected pets. We do not have a facility, we have a network of foster homes for the placement of animals awaiting their forever homes. As we are a volunteer organization, we are always very appreciative of any monetary donations.
