Northeast Georgia Animal ShelterThe Northest Georgia Animal Shelter is an open admission, non-profit Shelter, supported financially by private donations and funds from eight city and county jurisdictions. We do not refuse any animals from Hart and Franklin Counties. We often take in sick and injured animals, feral cats, wild dogs, and viscious dogs. In these cases, it is our obligation to humanely end the suffering of these animals. We strive to get all of our animals adopted, and often work with rescue groups and other local shelters to achieve this. Our maximum capacity is 60 animals. Currently our adoption rate is 30% and we are working hard every day to increase it. Boggs Mountain Humane Shelter Inc.Founded in 2001, the Boggs Mountain Humane Shelter was established to respond to a community need. Formal status as a non-profit was secured in January, 2002. In June, 2003, construction began on a 9,457 square foot facility situated on 3.71acres of land at the edge of a beautiful tract of U.S. Forest Service land on East Boggs Mountain Road in Tiger, Georgia.
