Our primary mission is working with feral (wild) cat colonies that have committed caretakers. All the cats are trapped, tested for FELV and FIV, vaccinated and altered. Kittens and strays are placed in carefully screened adoptive homes (they wait at our vet or in foster homes until they are placed). Feral adults are returned to the colony. Once the colony is "finished", the caretaker's role becomes supplying food, water and shelter and picking up any stray that might wander by in search of a handout. Many of the caretakers then become volunteers to help in our fund raising efforts so we can help other colonies! Our accomplishments with respect to the kittens and strays that are placed in adoptive homes is fairly obvious. But what about the adult ferals? Originally, I thought of the goal of the neuter and release process as being primarily to prevent kittens from being born to suffer. But I have come to realize we accomplish a lot for the adult ferals as well. Freed from constant pregnancy, the female ferals plump up and start to look happy and healthy the way nature intended. Males also start to look much healthier and their roaming is greatly reduced - reducing the opportunities for the spread of disease and the possibility of being hit by a car. It is not a purrfect answer - we all wish they could have homes - but in today's world that just isn't realistic.

Lucky Cat Rescue is an organization dedicated and committed to promoting pet spay and neuter. We provide information to educate individuals and communities of the importance of responsible pet ownership. This organization concentrates on spaying and neutering feral cat colonies which have caretakers and are in a safe environment. This practice reduces the risk of unwanted litters. We help in the rescue of stray and feral kittens which require socialization and need to be adopted. All cats and kittens are examined and treated by a veterinarian. Potential adopters will have access to veterinarian care. This shelter provides hope for cats and kittens that are considered ""unadoptable"" and would be euthanized by other shelters.

Our mission is to end the suffering of cats, be they feral, domestic, or stray.
We do this, in case of ferals, by trapping neutering/spaying, and returning the cats to their original environment when it is hospitable and cat friendly. When a cat's environment no longer sustains its life, we attempt to relocate the animals to a more friendly area.
In the case of orphan kittens and/or at risk mommies and their kittens, we place them in foster homes until they can be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and have other medical situations addressed. We then find new homes where the cat will live for rest of its life.
We educate pet owners when problems arise, and encourage them to think of their pet as a family member, and as such, the animal deserves to live without any further changes in ownership for the rest of its life.

Cool Cats is a rescue and adoption organization helping to control the feral and abandoned cat population through humane alternatives. Our policy is to see NO KILL of especially the cats that are NOT known as "companion" animals. Unadoptable feral cats are returned to their colonies altered, current with shots & vaccines, and with their ears tipped. Our kitties may also be viewed at our foster homes and/or our main shelter mid-week & on weekends by appointment. Please note that the SPCA is the alternative for you if you have a domestic cat for which you are seeking a home. Our group concentrates on injured, stray, abandoned and wild cats only. We do not take owner give-ups. If you are trying to find a home for your domestic cat, have you run an ad in the newspaper or the Penny Saver? If you've found a cat, the newspapers run FOUND ads for FREE - call them and please post flyers in your neighborhood because it works!
