Tri-County Humane SocietyThe TCHS is not a government agency. We are supported primarily by shelter income, donations, fund raising events, and the support of our friends and members. One need not reside in the tri-county area to use our services or make contributions. The TCHS was incorporated on December 11th, 1974. Mission Statement In recognition of the bond between humans and animals, the Tri-County Humane Society exists to practice and promote humane principles, compassionate care, and the prevention of cruelty to animals. This society serves the community, both animals and people, primarily by: providing quality care and adoption services for animals in need, offering educational programs to encourage the awareness, understanding and practice of humane principles, and handling questions and complaints regarding animal care and behavior, including alleged cruelty, and neglect cases. Philosophy Statement SHELTER The base of operations of the Tri-County Humane Society is our shelter. It is there that we give temporary care to animals who for on various reasons are homeless. We value: Clean, cheerful, healthy, and inviting atmosphere for both animals and people, Our professional and compassionate staff who provide daily care for the animals at the shelter and insure a successful adoption program, and Our volunteers who, in assisting the staff in daily animal care, willingly take on both pleasant and unpleasant tasks. EDUCATION Through our educational programs, we teach humane and well-informed animal care.
