New animals are examined for possible problems, medical charts are checked and medication is administered, when needed. Cat cages and dog kennels are cleaned daily. From the time she shelter opens until it closes, there's a constant flurry of cleaning, feeding, exercising, cuddling, caring. Our Mission
The Animal Refuge Center firmly believes that spaying and neutering pets is the only way to keep down the growing pet overpopulation problem. Unfortunately, more and more pets arrive at ARC every day--whether they are older pets brought by folks who can no longer care for them, or brand-new babies in the world dumped at ARC by the boxful because someone said, "I don't need to have my pet fixed--why? It's not my problem. "

Our programs and services include foster care, adoption, spay/neuter, veterinary care, feral cat assistance and pet therapy. We have an "open door" policy for all animals, whether lost, abandoned, surrendered or rescued. But, more importantly, we are committed to searching for new and innovative ways to reduce pet overpopulation while building a new consensus that rejects killing as a method of achieving results.

The Animal Relief Fund was started in 1996 as a way to help animals in various shelters get the medical care they needed. It provided financial support for animals that would otherwise be euthanized due to various curable conditions. It also sponsors several spay stations and low income funding. The Animal Relief Fund not only still does these tasks, but fosters and places animals that otherwise would be euthanized. A.R.F. has rescued and placed livestock, birds, and reptiles along with dogs and cats.
