Laramie Peak Humane SocietyPreviously been known as the Douglas Animal Shelter, Laramie Peak Humane Society was selected as the new name for the community animal shelter. LPHS is a non-profit organization that serves companion animals in Douglas, WY and the surrounding area. The purpose of LPHS is to protect, care for and provide for the reasonable and humane disposition of homeless dogs and cats in our community. This organization assists care givers and pet owners in protecting, caring for and treating animals in a compassionate and humane manner. We work hard to educate the community about the importance of spaying and neutering to help keep the number of unwanted dogs and cats down, as well as advocating for the humane treatment of animals. Laredo Animal Protective SocietyLAPS is dedicated to saving as many breeds, mixes, and species of animals that are fit for adoption as our facilities can support in a healthy and sanitary environment. Although we would like to be able to save every animal that comes here, unfortunately, the pet overpopulation is too high in Laredo and we do not have the money to treat sick animals. Larimer Humane SocietyThe Larimer Humane Society is an open-door shelter. Unlike no-kill facilities, we offer care to every animal in need. In order to be a no-kill shelter we would have to limit the number and types of animals we accept. We don’t turn any animal away and last year, the Humane Society sheltered over 9000 domestic animals and over 2500 wild animals, and the Animal Protection and Control Department answered over 20,000 calls.
