Our Shelter is located about 10 miles East of I-5 between Williams and Maxwell. We are a very small facility. We have 14 Kennels for the dogs and about 20 cat cages. We are unable to keep the animals much past their holding period unfortunately and so underfunded that we can not offer many if any of them any vaccines. Our shelter is open M-F 2-3pm and we have a volunteer who comes in Monday and Wednesday 10a-3pm.

Our mission at Colville Pet Refuge is to rescue dogs and place them into suitable homes where they will be lovingly treated. Our other emphasis is to make sure the dogs are spayed or neutered and have current immunizations. By the end of 2005, after being in business for less than two years, we had saved about 700 dogs. CPR is a non-profit organization of unpaid volunteers and exists solely on donations

Every year thousands of cats and kittens in Southern Oregon are abandoned and left to fend for themselves. In many cases CATS is able to step in and rescue these feline friends from cruel and unloving life on the street. Our rescue stories range from cats found in garbage dumpsters, to litters of kittens found on remote country roadsides.
We at Committed Alliance to Strays are determined to do something about this problem. We think cats should be in homes, not alleys, vacant lots, or dumpsters. Our program rescues homeless and abandoned cats, gives them special care, including medical check-ups, testing, vaccinations, behavioral checks, and lots of love. Life in our shelter offers cats a chance to rest and become reacquainted with loving humans. Our volunteers spend hours with these cats until they are adopted into a loving home.
As part of our goal to help this situation, no cat leaves our shelter until it has been spayed or neutered. We encourage everyone to have their animals spayed or neutered. All of our cats are also tested for Feline AIDS (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FeLV), diseases which are preventable, but contagious and fatal once contracted.

Communities Altering The Strays (CATS) acts as an information resource center for people that want to help stray and feral cats in their neighborhoods. We advocate spaying and neutering of family pets, and actively promote TNR (trap/neuter/return).
We give one-on-one advice to novice rescuers through telephone conversations and email, and are here to anwer any questions they have until they gain the confidence to manage their projects on their own.
For people within our local communities, we give hands-on training and assistance in TNR. For senior citizens and physically challenged people, we also offer volunteer trappers, transport and post-op care for the cats until they are returned.
We also have cats and kittens living in foster homes that we have available for adoption. The cats and kittens that appear on our website and Petfinder sites were rescued from the streets of surrounding towns. Some of the cats, especially kittens, come from cat colonies that we manage for local animal control.
We are not a shelter and do not accept cats. We do offer internet exposure to pet owners who must part with their pets, and to independent rescuers of stray and feral cats. We network with area shelters, rescue groups, and veterinarians and work together to find homes for as may cats as we can.
