Our Mission
Brooklyn Animal Shelter, Inc. has been organized for the purpose of raising funds to promote the following objectives:
1. To encourage responsible pet ownership by educating the public on the importance of spaying or neutering to control animal over-population.
2. To increase public awareness of the proper care of companion animals.
3. To assist in providing a safe, clean, comfortable environment for lost, abandoned and stray animals.
4. To reunite owners and lost pets.
5. To promote adoption of homeless animals.

BCHS is a non-profit humane society on Brownwood, TX. Wetake all the animals from animal control in the city of Brownwook. Early and Bangs. We also take in all animals brought in by the public. We promote spay/neuter and also help citizens with the cost of spay/neuter of owned animals.

The BCHS was incorporated in 1966. The current shelter was built in 1987. An extensive renovation was completed in 2000. We are the only humane organization servicing the Brown County area. The mission of the Brown County Humane Society is to be a community resource dedicated to promoting the welfare of all animals in our county. We provide temporary shelter to pets in need and promote adoption of homeless pets into loving, permanent homes. We advocate respect for animals through public education concerning responsible pet ownership. We support and promote spaying and neutering to ultimately eliminate pet overpopulation in our community.
