Serenity Animal HospitalWe are a veterinary hospital that accepts kittens who, for one reason or other, are not able to be cared for by their mothers. Often times the mothers have been hit by cars. A few of our dedicated staff take these kittens home and bottle feed them every 2-6 hours around the clock depending on the age of the kittens. Taylor County Animal ServicesWe pick up stray or lost cats and dogs and give them a safe comfortable place to stay and care for them until their owners can recover them. Sometimes there is no one who calls to find these pets and we need to find new adoption families for them. We are very limited on the time alloted for us to care for these animals, the county who has contracted us will only provide funds for seven days, after that we keep these pets at our own expense. Humane Society of Portage CountyFounded in 1969, the Humane Society of Portage County owns and operates an animal shelter in Bukolt Park, located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The shelter provides food, housing and care for over 2,500 stray, unwanted, sick, or injured animals each year. HSPC is primarily funded through private donations, fundraising activities and adoptions. Outreach for HSPC is based on our foster and volunteer programs. Many nursing mothers are sent into foster care until their kittens or puppies are ready to be adopted. We also use this program for undersocialized animals and old/sickly dogs and cats that would otherwise not find homes. Our volunteers help with the daily chores and activities that keep our animals happy and healthy. Many volunteers walk the dogs and socialize our cats. They also help with general training. Stillwater Animal ControlWe are the municipal animal shelter that takes in stray and homeless animals for the City of Stillwater. We are staffed by a supervisor and two animal control officers who enforce city ordinances. We are small, 13 dog runs and 26 cat or puppy cages, but have many new animals available weekly. We are unique because we have two shelters in one location by leasing to our local "no kill" Humane Society organization who has many more animals not listed on this site. (They have their own site on petfinder now.) However, our shelter is NOT a "no-kill" shelter and we need to make room for new animals weekly, so the animals listed here are in desparate need of homes.
