The Nashville Humane Association is one of the oldest service organizations in Nashville. The roots of NHA can be traced back to a society founded in 1887 to protect children form inhumane working conditions and draft horses from mistreatment. This non-profit organization was incorporated in 1946 to protect the well being of animals in Davidson County. The Nashville Humane Association is committed to: promoting humane treatment of animals, finding good homes for stray or abandoned dogs and cats, educating the public about their responsibility to help control the pet population, and providing treatment and care to ensure the well being of animals in our community.

Basha's Fund is a Non-Profit Cat/Kitten Care & Placement Organization. We save one precious life at a time, through a network of foster homes and rescues in the Nashville, TN area. Flora's Pet Project is a 501(c)(3) charity, run entirely by volunteers and devoted to animal welfare. We are a foster home-based operation, and each pet offered for adoption through Flora's Pet Project, including every kitten and every puppy, has been neutered, vaccinated and tested for heartworm (dogs) or feline leukemia/AIDS (cats) prior to adoption. We also perform any medical procedures and provide any medications which the pet might require--everything from amputations to zithromax. These vet services are funded by tax-deductible donations to Flora's Pet Project

The Naugatuck Animal Shelter is a municipal animal control facility. As much as we can, we provide the basics of care for the animals, but what they really need is a loving stable home environment to truly be happy. All pets must be family members-kept indoors as part of the family.
