LAPS is dedicated to saving as many breeds, mixes, and species of animals that are fit for adoption as our facilities can support in a healthy and sanitary environment. Although we would like to be able to save every animal that comes here, unfortunately, the pet overpopulation is too high in Laredo and we do not have the money to treat sick animals. The sad consequence is that each animal has a limited amount of time at our shelter to be adopted--so bring a new friend into your home today!

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has served as every Tampa Bay pet owner's safety net for 65 years. According to an article in the St. Petersburg Times (2000) more than 77,000 dogs and cats are turned over to shelters in Hillsborough and pinellas counties annually. Of those dogs that are admitted to shelters, almost 25 percent are purebred.
The SPCA provides services to between 16,000 and 18,000 homeless and abandoned animals every year. Once it is determined that an animal is physically and emotionally suitable for adoption, the SPCA provides food, shelter, medical care and behavior training until the animal is adopted.

Heaven Can Wait Sanctuary was founded in 2000 by a group of 5 individuals dedicated to ending the senseless killing of over 25,000 animals in the Las Vegas area shelters annually. The organization focuses mainly on offering low-cost spay/neuter programs and various adoption locations to reach this goal. HCWS is a non-profit organization that has over 400 cats, all in foster homes, and over 50 dogs who are located in 2 local prisons while enrolled in our 'Pups on Parole' program. There is no time limit on how long a pet can stay with us, and everything we do during their stay will focus solely on preparing the animals for a life with a caring family of their own.

The Animal Foundation was founded in November 1989 with the City of Las Vegas. We formed a strategic partnership to be able to bring a long term permanent solution to help curb the pet overpopulation crisis and position Las Vegas as the first city to end euthanasia of healthy adoptable animals.

The Las Vegas Valley Humane Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the plight of homeless, abandoned and abused animals in Clark County. We are one of the few organizations that rescue animals which we then foster until we can find loving new homes. Another priority is to educate the public about pet care, over population, and abuse.
