Organization for Responsible Care of AnimalsORCA'S primary goal is to rescue any ill, or injured, or in-distress animal, stray or abandoned, in Lancaster County, PA and to provide, on our Animal-Alert Hotline, 717-397-8922, information on animal-related problems. It is the purpose of ORCA to respond 24 hours a day to emergencies, and to provide support to police, fire, and other emergency personnel when they are dealing with situations that involve animals. Fern Hollow FarmOur rescue is operating in memory of Pal. Pal was a blind brittany who entered a kill shelter as a stray. I was a volunteer and it was love at first sight. He sat in a kennel for 20 days and I was determined that on Christmas Eve if no one had adopted him that he was coming home with me. He was part of our family for 9 months until he got very ill. He was always there for me. Despite being blind he learned our house quickly and was one of my best walking partners. At Fern Hollow Farm we try to save dogs like Pal. The ones that are in trouble from being euthanized because there are so many without homes. Lander Pet ConnectionWe love all animals, and have a deep and abiding respect for all kinds of life. LAC Rescue CrittersMy other mission has become to place unwanted pets in loving homes. All the pets I adopt out are spayed/neutered. I put a big emphasis on spaying and neutering because a lot of people may not be aware of how large the pet overpopulation is. This past fall I had the opportunity to volunteer at Operation Cat Nap (OCN). OCN is Auburn University's Vet School sponsored event.
