The Lincoln County Humane Society is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty and abuse to animals, birds and wildlife.
We strive to maintain a No-Kill facility; a place of safety for healthy adoptable animals; a temporary home for the homeless; a haven for the mistreated, neglected or abused animals of Lincoln County and surrounding counties.
Euthanization will not be our population control, but rather an act of kindness to end an animals suffering or to ensure public safety and welfare.
It is our pledge to nourish the relationship between companion animals and humans through education, media exposure and readily available information and assistance.
The purpose of the Society is to promote animal welfare including the reduction of the pet overpopulation through the prevention of unwanted births using the tools of:
-strong legislation and enforcement on both State and County level
-youth and adult education assistance.
-availability of low-cost public spay/neuter
The Humane Society provides a shelter to which the public may bring in their unwanted animals. A trained and dedicated staff is at work every day of the year to provide a high standard of care. All animals received at the shelter are examined and given routine health care.

The Lost Companion (TLC) came together in the summer of 2006, when a group of women saw the need to help a feral (wild) cat population in the village of Wild Rose, in central Wisconsin. To help these cats, a nonprofit organization was set up using the guidelines of Allied Cat Allies, an organization which has advocated for nonlethal methods (TNR) to reduce outdoor cat populations, for over a decade.

The purpose of MADACC is to provide: shelter, care and disposition of stray dogs and cats, the search and recovery of lost pets, county quarantine services of biter animals for rabies observation, REFERRAL services for wildlife problems, and to promote responsible pet ownership through client education and the licensing of dogs and cats. To accomplish these goals, MADACC utilizes a variety of resources through networking and coordination with metropolitan area humane societies. Adoption referral extends far beyond the immediate area of Milwaukee County allowing for permanent animal placements with breed rescue groups, exotic animal specialists, wildlife sanctuaries, and wildlife preservation refuges and zoos. For the health and safety of the public, MADACC will not authorize the release, to a breed placement group or a humane society, of any animal that has a history of incident resulting in bite attack or has any known aggressive tendencies.

We do not have any paid staff, no corporate jets, Swiss bank accounts or luxury condos in foreign lands. The animals are rescued and cared for daily, by volunteers. The costs we have are specialty feeds, vet expenses, hay, straw, woodshavings, and farm supplies like water heaters, tanks, garden hoses, electric cords... nothing too fancy. What what we have seen over the last few months, is an influx of calls from people who can no longer afford to feed their animals

We are a small private rescue in Wisconsin, Minnesota and the Dakotas devoted to helping Persians and other breeds in need of re-homing. We operate solely on the financial and physical support of our direct volunteers.
We will rescue and foster Persians at risk of euthanasia in animal shelters and pounds. Additionally we will place these rescued Persians into carefully screened homes that can give them the love and care they deserve.
Minnkota Persian Rescue is run entirely by volunteer foster homes. We do not have a physical shelter location. Please e-mail or call us if you are interested in adopting an animal on our list or if you would like to be placed on our waiting list for adoption. We have foster homes in both North Dakota, Wisconsin and Minnesota and can transport cats within these states to their new homes.
