The Humane Society for Seattle/King County is a not-for-profit organization that first opened our doors in 1897. Since that time, we have gone from being just an animal shelter to providing a variety of programs and services specifically crafted to support pets throughout their relationships with people.

Whatcom Voice of the Animals (WVOA) has a simple mission for its existence, to save as many lives as possible from needless death. We are a no-kill organization that has no central shelter. Instead, our compassionate volunteers open their homes as foster care facilities. Animals staying in foster care are cared for and nurtured until adoptions are arranged.

We are looking for long term indoor-only homes. We have an unconditional return policy with no time limit. Adoption fees cover the vet services provided for the cat or kitten you adopt. Since we also provide veterinary services for stray and feral cats for whom an adoption fee is never collected, your adoption fee may also help cover the costs to spay, neuter and vaccinates these less fortunate cats. If you are unable to adopt at this time but would like to support our efforts consider becoming a foster family. We have a Senior Citizen program where we don't charge adoption fees and in some cases will also donate food and veterinary care. We also have a variety of semi-feral cats who would like to live in your garage, shed or barn. Great mousers, they also need your commitment to a lifetime of care and food. Please call Janet at 206-679-0849 and ask about our "Mouser Program".

Animal Rescue Families is a non-profit corporation committed to the following community services:
We are a non-kill animal rescue organization. Our family foster home system provides safe haven for abandoned, abused, or unwanted domestic animals. All animals in our care are spayed or neutered and receive all life saving or necessary medical attention. When these foster animals are emotionally and physically healed, we search for the correct human companion for each, ensuring a loving, permanent home.
