Our Mission
Friends for Life is moving Houston forward to a No Kill future though programs that redefine "adoptable." We rescue, medically treat, and place animals into loving homes. 75% of the animals we have already placed would not be saved without our unique programs. Our pet retention programs help to keep animals in homes.
Also advancing our community towards a No Kill future are our humane education programs that teach children that animals are not disposable but are companions who deserve our care and compassion. The connection between violence and indifference to animals and similar behavior against people is so well documented it is axiomatic. The lessons of respect and kindness empower children with ways they can make the world better for animals and ultimately better for all of us. While there is immediate rescue work to be done, the path to permanent change lies in changing attitudes about valuing and caring for our companion animals.

We foster all of our animals in our home. We normally place animals into our program from local animal shelters who have to euthanize animals due to space contraints and pet over population.
We will occasionally take owner surrender pets with a donation for care to re-home the pet.

Happy Dog Adoption is dedicated to placing dogs that were scheduled to be euthanized and rescued by Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch, into caring, loving permanent homes. All these dogs were discarded, neglected or abandoned by previous owners who no longer want or can keep them, or did not take the responsibilty of being a pet owner seriously. All our dogs have been wormed, medically treated, had their Parvo/distemper, Bordetella & rabies shots, are spayed/neutered, on heartworm & flea prevention, and are ready for their second chance at love in their forever home. We live on premise and spend alot of time with all our adoptable dogs, they're really ready for a family to love.
