The Flower Mound Humane Society is a non-profit 501(c), all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of unwanted and abused animals in Flower Mound and the surrounding areas. We are also committed to spay/neuter assistance and education to companion animal guardians.
FMHS does not have a shelter, so all animals in our program are placed in temporary foster homes until permanent homes can be found.

Forney Road Shelter, located in East Dallas, is one of two Dallas Municipal Shelters (the other is Oak Cliff Shelter). Dogs and cats that are healthy and have good temperments, and have not been reclaimed by their owners, are available for adoption, space permitting.

We are a division of the City of Fort Worth Public Health Department operating a full service animal control and sheltering agency. We handle enforcement of municipal codes relating to animals and try to solve neighborhood problems caused by animals or their owners. Our division handles over 23,000 animals each year. Many are wonderful pets looking for new, forever homes.
