Animal Control Center Adopt A Pound Pet ProgramA new era has begun for the animals who find themselves stranded at the El Paso Animal Control Center. Beginning June 2007, a new adoption program was instituted by the El Paso Shelter And Rescue Coalition (EPSHARE). So many of the animals who arrive as strays at the Animal Control Center would make such wonderful pets, they just need someone to give them a chance – will it be you? Elgin Humane Society Adoption CenterThe Elgin Humane Society is a non-profit group dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, and the extension of humane education. It is the policy of the Society to promote humane care and treatment for all animals in Elgin and in the Elgin area; to seek to assist the return of lost animals to their owners; and to seek suitable homes for animals without owners. The Society assists the Elgin Animal Control Officer and the Elgin Animal Shelter related to the mission statement above. We provide monetary and non-monetary donations to the shelter to benefit the animals. We also provide volunteers to assist in caring for the animals in the shelter. North Ellis County Animal Awareness ProgramNECAAP is a non-for-profit animal rescue for the injured and ill animals. We take in special needs homeless animals. Specifically, animals that have been hit by cars,heartworm positive dogs, mange-ridden ,and we also take in the seniors that are hard to place. All of our animals that go to the Rainbow Bridge are cremated and never sent to a land fill. We are always in need of old sheets, blankets, playpens, pet taxis, puppy formula,and baby bottles.
