Muttley Crew Orphanage and Adoption AgencyMuttley Crew Orphanage and Adoption Agency was formed to help meet the needs of the many abandoned, stray, and abused animals in our community. They all have value. It was a human that allowed them to be born in a country where over 10 million are killed annually. Over 1 million are killed in the DFW area annually. Our companions come to us under many different circumstances. They may be an accidental unwanted litter, the one abandoned at a dump and used for target practice, the one sitting on the side of the road waiting for the owner who will never return for them, the one that broke their chain and escaped, the puppies on a highway laying beside their dead mama, the arrested drug dealer?s puppy, the irresponsible result of a breeder, the one left behind when the owners moved, the one that ?got too big?, or the one beat and left for dead. The list could go on? unfortunately. We take these dogs into our homes and provide medical care, food, treats, soft beds, toys and lots of love. Thundering Paws Animal SanctuaryOur animals come from local shelters and from their former guardians; some just walk up the driveway. A bout 75% are adoptable - we find them homes. Others are feral (wild) cats who have had no positive contact with humans. They, too, have good lives at Thundering Paws. Some animals arrive fearful and cannot be adopted until they learn what it's like to be touched by gentle hands. Others need time to recover from injuries or illness before they go to their new homes. While spay/neuter is the only permanent solution to the overpopulation of companion animals, Thundering Paws wants animals who are already born to have full, happy lives. Eagle Lake Animal ControlBecause we have such a tiny facility and no municipal funding, we cannot hold our dogs long before they may be subject to euthanation. We are currently utilizing foster families to care for animals rather than them having to be euthanized. We are planning fund raisers in hopes of one day building a new facility to house these animals until they can be adopted out to loving families.
