NOAH'S ARC, INCNOAH'S ARC is a nonprofit 501c (3), "NO-KILL", animal rescue organization founded in 1991, as an alternative to animal shelters. We have grown from 6 members to over 400 in and out of Tennessee. We are funded solely from donations and fundraisers with 100% of money raised going directly to improving the health and lives of rescued animals. Since 1991, we have placed over 3,200 rescue animals, (many with handicaps or special needs), into quality, loving homes. The purposes of Noah's Arc have expanded to encompass the rescue of abandoned, abused, injured or impaired animals; provide medical attention; find foster or permanent homes for the animals; educate the local public regarding pet overpopulation; and provide low or no cost spaying/neutering of ARC animals and community pets. NOAH'S ARC animals are housed at our Dog Harbor and Cat Haven locations. Claiborne County Animal ShelterIn December of 1999, a group of concerned residents formed the Claiborne County Animal Control Board, authorized by the County Commission. The main object of the Board was to build a shelter to house the many unwanted and homeless animals of the County. Kanyon's GoldKanyon's Gold Rescue (KGR) is a small, non-profit, group of volunteers, dedicated to the rehabilitation, care, and adoption of animals rescued from euthanizing animal shelters in the Maryville/Knoxville, TN area. KGR is a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation as defined in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We promote humane education and encourage responsible pet ownership. Our first priority is to rescue as many unwanted or unclaimed adoptable dogs and pups from area shelters as possible. Relatively new to rescue, 3 years experience, we are committed to doing everything we can to help aid these furry friends in need. As we are a rescue, and not a shelter, all visiting of animals in our program usually occurs in the evening or on weekends.
