Our organization is dedicated to finding loving, responsible homes for every adoptable animal in our shelter. We do not use euthanasia as a way of shelter population control. Rather, we use every avenue available to quickly "move" animals from a shelter environment. We accept all animals brought in by the City of Georgetown, and Georgetown County Animal Control personnel, and we will accept other animals as space becomes available or if a determination is made that the welfare of the animal is in jeopardy

Sav-R-Cats began as a small group of volunteers with a dream to end the inhumanity put upon so many feral and stray cats in our resort community. That dream has now spread throughout the County. We are a local source for all domestic, stray and feral cat information. We promote , educate, train and performTrap/Neuter/Return for the many colonies in our area. We support many caregivers and fight for animal and cat rights with our legal team. We are currently working with the County government to improve the conditions at the Animal Control facility and are actively working with the new Horry Georgetown Animal Coalition to improve conditions for all animals housed there.

Seneca Animal Hospital, besides offering veterinary care to upstate South Carolina, we also try to help abandonded, stray, and homeless animals. Since we are a small facility, our space is limited to the number of homeless animals we can keep, and therefore do not take in animals on a regular basis.

SQ Rescue is a charitable organization that has been in operation since 1980. This organization is operated almost single handedly by Mrs. Escue. She works personally one on one with each rescue, taking them for veterinarian care and arranging foster homes. We do not put any animals to sleep. If a surgery is needed, we follow through with our team of specialists here in Columbia to include an Ophthalmologist, Orthopedic, Dermatologist and Internist.

We are a Columbia, SC area group dedicated to managing a feral cat colony near Lexington Medical Center. Feral cat colonies can be found all over the city, and in the unmanaged ones, overbreeding leads quickly to the spread of diseases like feline leukemia and feline AIDS. Competition (i.e. fighting) among tomcats for food and mating rights are one of the ways that these diseases are spread. We address these problems through a method called trap/neuter/return, or TNR. We humanely trap the cats and take them to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and treated for any other illnesses or injuries. After assessing how the cats will adapt to indoor living with people and other pets, the cats are either socialized and placed in loving homes or returned to the wild, where they can live "among their own" and enjoy a life free from the stresses of overbreeding and disease.
