We are a non-profit all-foster home cat rescue, rehabilitation and adoption organization operating on Christian values.
Our primary mission is to rescue pets from area shelters and veterinarians that are scheduled to be euthanized. We accept pets from owners and good-Samaritans on a SPACE available basis only. There is rarely room for such pets, as we are usually kept quite full by our primary mission and are limited by the number of foster homes we have.

To rescue pets from area shelters & veterinarian’s offices that are scheduled for euthanasia or who have little hope of being adopted or rescued from other resources. To provide safe-haven, medical care, socialization and love treating them as our own until God sends their permanent families to us, or until He calls them home. To treat all, both animal and human, with Christian love and charity as we perform the work God calls us to do as stewards of His creation.

Paws and Claws Humane Society of Chesterfield County is a completely volunteer organization. We work to assist the Animal Control Officer in improving conditions and situations for the animals under his control. We work out of the county animal shelter on the weekends to adopt out, administer preventative disease shots, and provide assistance and care to the animals. Join us! You can help in more ways than you think. This county shelter is a HIGH KILL SHELTER due to the shear amount of animals that come to this facility DUE TO NEGLECT, ABUSE and UNCONTROLLED BREEDING. We will work with any and all rescue groups available to us.

Many pet problems are due to overpopulation. Pure and simple. And the solution to this is just as simple. Spay & Neuter. It's just not a complicated matter. But it must be addressed on a grand scale. Rescuing and placing 25 or 30 animals a year is inadequate. If we are to end the misery we must be willing to commit to a long term solution to overpopulation.
PETS, Inc. has developed programs to address the problems from the point of rescue, through the rehabilitation and adoption processes and then, going a step further, to insure the animal has a reasonably good chance for successful integration into the family by addressing its training and emotional needs.
We want to be sure that our involvement with the adoptive family will positively impact the way they will interact with their future pets as well.
We believe that most people who do not provide properly for their pets simply don't understand their animal's basic nature, instincts and emotional as well as physical needs. It is our mission to assist people with their pets through education, counseling, training assistance and low-cost health care.

Project Pet believes companion pets have value beyond economic measurement and are entitled to legal, moral and ethical consideration. Our mission is to form a federation of like-minded organizations and individuals to alleviate animal suffering; set safe and humane standards for companion pets and shelters; and educate and increase awareness of the necessity for spaying and neutering to reduce the overall number of unwanted companion pets, eventually reducing the need for euthanasia. A self-sustaining Education/Adoption Center will be established to fulfill our vision of creating a community that will assist, develop, promote and strengthen the quality of life for our companion animals.
