Open Arms ResQ & Refurral is a home based rescue that deals with all types of animals. While we mainly deal with cats and dogs we are open to take in birds and exotics, including reptiles. We also have many referrals that we will gladly pass along if we can not take the animal in ourselves. All of our rescues stay in the house with us and live as part of the family. We have no kennels and none of our animals are segregated within the house. We are always happy to answer any questions on specific breeds, nutrition or just general education.

Founded 1996 by Dr. Jacqueline Metzler, the Pet Adoption and Lifecare Society received non-profit status in January 2000. Since then, we have placed hundreds of cats and dogs into loving homes every year. Our animals are temporarily loved and cared for in foster homes until permanent homes can be found. All of our cats are FeLV/FIV negative unless otherwise noted under special needs. They are adopted out free of parasites, including fleas and internal parasites. They have also had all vaccines for which they are eligible. Some of our animals have incurable diseases and are placed in hospice care where care is given for life if a loving home that is able to care for special needs animals cannot be found.

P.A.W.S. is a non-profit adoption service designed to help find homes for animals in need either medically or otherwise. These animals come to us as strays, orphans and sadly, sometimes as unwanted pets. Any animal over 6 months old is automatically neutered if it has not already been done, before it is placed for adoption. All required vaccines are brought up to date. All animals in the P.A.W.S. program are kept until they find homes. Animals with known temperment problems are not placed in the P.A.W.S. program.

PAWS (Preservation of Animal Welfare and Safety) is a regional, no-kill, animal-rescue group, established in 1979, dedicated to saving lives and preventing suffering by implementing the no-kill philosophy through aggressive spay/neuter programs for owned and unowned animals; by rescuing, fostering, and seeking permanent homes for endangered dogs and cats; and by raising awareness of the plight of homeless animals. We seek a time when there are no homeless animals, when every companion animal can be guaranteed a loving place to live. PAWS is an all-volunteer, 501c3 (not for profit) organization that receives no government funding and relies on donations from people
