As one of the few "full adoption" organizations in the state of Oregon, SafeHaven remains committed to the philosophy of not using euthanasia to control population. Once an animal is accepted at SafeHaven, there is no limit to the amount of time that animal can spend at the shelter. Once the shelter is full, however, no new animals can be accepted, thus preventing our current residents from being euthanized to make room for newcomers. It is this policy which differentiates SafeHaven from publicly funded "open admission" facilities.

Indigo Rescue is an all volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to end animal abandonment and pet overpopulation in our communitiy.
We are not a shelter and cannot accept animals from the public. Instead we offer free consultation services to independent rescuers who wish to place animals that they have found. We also, on occasion, foster animals from Washington County Animal Services.

ARKOregon is a non-profit organization serving the Pacific Northwest by promoting & assisting with spaying/neutering of domestic pets, encouraging proper identification of pets through microchipping and educating the community in regard to animal behavior, obedience and nutrition. Our network of foster families care for rescue dogs and cats until we are able to find them loving "forever " homes to spend the rest of their life in. Our greatest hope is to see killing homeless pets a thing of the past.

CHIMPS INC. is a nonprofit 501(C)3-1 organization dedicated to furthering chimpanzee conservation through education. Here at our private sanctuary, CHIMPS INC. offers a recuperative home for released chimpanzees to live out their lives in dignity. Many chimpanzees in the United States suffer for the first 13 to 14 years of their lives in biomedical research, the entertainment field, or parks/zoos. Upon reaching adolescence, chimpanzees make the life threatening mistake of growing up. Traditionally, euthanasia was the next step, meaning that retirement centers and sanctuaries have not been necessary. Now that we are more aware of the 98.4% genetic compatibility of the chimpanzees to humans, it is no longer morally acceptable to murder our sibling species. Chimpanzees that have dedicated their lives to the human cause now find themselves unwanted and forgotten. Because no chimpanzee ever volunteered to be enslaved by humans, we are once again left to clean up our mess. Humans have the power to enslave these individuals for selfish purposes. Now we must ensure that their contribution to humanity is rewarded by providing them with the best possible care for the remainder of their years (which can reach beyond 50 years).

Bend Spay & Neuter Project (BendSNIP) offers low cost spay/neuter and vaccination services for stray, feral and barn cats, and critters that can't otherwise afford regular vet care. Our goal is to increase the quality of life for domestic and formerly domestic cats, protect wildlife from demise because of the overpopulation of cats, and reduce the euthanasia rates in our shelters.
