Pontotoc Animal Welfare SocietyPontotoc Animal Welfare Society was incorporated as a nonprofit, charitable orgainization in September, 1982. PAWS operates the animal shelter for the purpose of sheltering lost, unwanted, sick and injured animals until a new home can be found or the animal is humanely disposed. PAWS also has an agreement with the city of Ada for the placement of impounded dogs and cats. These animals must be kept for 72 hours allowing the owner time to reclaim. Donations to this organization are tax deductible. We are always in need of collars, leashes, canned cat and dog food, treats, toys, bath towels, paper towels, pens and paper. We love having visitors. Please come and see our new "cat room" where cats can be free in a nice sunny room to play and sleep. PAWS also now has a "visiting room". There you can take the dog/cat that you like and get to know them better. Rainbow Bridge Can Wait Animal Rescue and AdoptionWe are a small no-kill rescue working towards educating the public about Spay and Neuter we also want to educate our community as well as the surronding communitys about humane treatment of these wonderful companions. Your adoption fees go to the care of the dogs, with them another life can be saved. Sadly Oklahoma has a 95% kill rate. Our local pound does not kill to make room they destroy the animals after 3 days, if the owner does not claim them or they are not adopted. They will not hold the dogs for me if my shelter is full, so I can pull them into rescue! Please if you are not interested in those on death row look at our adoptable pets, maybe you can make room by adopting one of our other companions. Real Rescue Inc.We are a small, family operated, 501(c)3 non-profit Oklahoma Corporation that was started by Dana and Chris Venters in June 2001. We try to help any creature that crosses our path and is in need of assistance. We provide whatever medical, psychological, physical and nutritional care the animal needs. Of course, this is expensive and we depend entirely on tax-deductible contributions from family, friends, and supporters. We especially try to help elderly and handicapped animals and people.
