Cheryl Routh started Happy Hills in 1982 as a boarding and grooming kennel. (boarding and grooming services are still offered). In 1986, she began taking in abandoned and abused animals, and putting them up for adoption. By 1989 the rescue work had grown so much that Happy Hills Animal Foundation was incorporated as a non-profit organization.
Hundreds of dogs and cats, as well as other animals like potbellied pigs, rabbits, etc. have been rescued and adopted through Happy Hills. We are no-kill, and adoptable animals may stay with us weeks, months, even years before they find their forever home. Unfortunately, it is impossible to take in all the animals that need rescuing, and some are sent on to the county pound.

Montgomery Moore Animal Rescue is a private, non profit organization dedicated to improving animal welfare through spay/neuter and adoption programs. Hopefully we teach our philosophy-a reverent respect for God's wonderful creatures to a few as we go about our task. Can I engage you in a heartfelt plea to help animal forums? We are in the trenches daily. Our souls struggle with those haunting eyes that we must leave at the County Dog Pound. Get involved- wherever you are- however you can. Changing attitudes and deeply imbedded procumbent opinions is a one-on-one mandate. To take one animal from horrid circumstances and deliver it to a cherishing home- OH HOW WONDERFUL!!!! How do we do this job? With tears and great joy
