We are a group of individuals who work with other groups and shelters to save a few innocent pets from euthanization. Most shelters are overflowing with too many animals. This means many animals will be euthanized. For this reason, we are in continuous rotation of foster animals within our own homes. Volunteers foster many cats, dogs and horses. Placement of these animals makes room for another to be saved. Due to lack of space and finances we can only save what our homes will hold. Some fosters save one pet at a time, others can do three or even more. These pets are given temporary homes until we can find them a forever home.

Animal rescue, rehab and rehoming services to animals that fall outside of any municipality in Southern Missouri. We also work with some commercial breeders to offer futures to mill dogs. We have filed for our 501 Status and hope to bring spay and neutering to our area for the rural dogs.

PHHA was formed in early 2003 to help the plight of the homeless animals in Phelps County, Missouri. Cats and dogs who are brought into the Rolla city animal shelter often face euthanasia due to lack of facilities and pet overpopulation. And unfortunately, Phelps county does not have a no-kill shelter.
