We are a Missouri not-for-profit corporation, an IRS 501(C)(3) charitable organization, and we are state licensed. We are an entirely volunteer group working for the welfare of unwanted and/or neglected pets. We do not have a facility, we have a network of foster homes for the placement of animals awaiting their forever homes. As we are a volunteer organization, we are always very appreciative of any monetary donations. We also are happy to receive gifts of dog food, new leashes & collars, new toys & paper towels etc. And we are always on the look-out for new volunteers and foster homes too!

Homeward Bound does not have a shelter of it's own, so many of the animals are taken into "foster homes". However if you would like to see an animal, please call and we will make every effort to make arrangements for a visit.

Since 1870, the Humane Society of Missouri is dedicated to second chances. We provide a safe and caring haven to all animals in need - large and small - that have been abused, neglected or abandoned. Our mission is to end the cycle of abuse and pet overpopulation through our rescue and investigation efforts, spay/neuter programs and educational classes. We are committed to creating lasting relationships between people and animals through our adoption programs. We further support that bond by making available world-class veterinary care, and outstanding pet obedience and behavior programs. The animals thank you for your support.
