St. Francois SocietyIn 1983, in St. Francois County, Missouri, volunteers set up a small organization to rescue injured wild animals and transport them to appropriate wildlife rescue groups. Volunteers also responded to calls on abandoned, ill, and injured companion animals in need of veterinary care and homes. Some twenty years after these modest beginnings, the organization expanded into St. Louis to increase its adoption efforts. As we are new to this area, our name is not as well known. Our mission is to rescue the not-so-young homeless dogs that are often overlooked at most animal shelters. We have shown that people will adopt and love older dogs.
