Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary
was founded by the Azzar family in August of 1999, after the passing of their beloved dog Mac. We are a federally recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose primary goal is to place homeless dogs into loving, lifelong homes. Mackenzie's is funded soley by private donations and fundraisers and does not receive any state, local or federal funding. Our major expenses are the result of the extensive medical care we provide for each dog in our care including wormings, vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgeries.

Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter is a County government funded agency serving the mid Michigan area, Ingham County's service area includes Lansing, East Lansing, and it's other adjacent urban communities. The Ingham County Animal Shelter maintains close relationships with many of the local rescue groups and citizen volunteers. The Ingham County Animal Shelter is working very hard to bridge that traditional gap between Animal Controls and Humane Societies by providing an open environment to those honest, hard working, animal caring, members of our community who assist us in finding loving homes for our unwanted pets.

The Shiawassee Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, that started in 1954. We moved to the current location at 2752 W. Bennington Rd. In the late 1970's. We are a low kill facility, by this we mean that we only euthanize terminally ill animals that have no quality of life left, and those who do not pass our temperment evaluations, and who pose a threat to the general public. Our facility houses up to 900 cats and dogs each year. Since we can only house so many animals at one time, we have "waiting" lists to bring your animals in.

The Eaton County Humane Society is a non-profit organization committed to public education of domesticated animal issues and rehoming of the great pets. Our five main priorities are:
The ECHS will help homeless domesticated animals find permanent, loving homes by increasing visibility of animals available for adoption, increasing the number of foster homes within the county, and work for a permanent solution for interim housing of homeless animals.
The ECHS will work tirelessly to increase the spay/neuter rate of pets within Eaton county by continuing to educate the public on the importance and benefits of spaying/neutering and to help offer low-cost spay/neuter operations to low income Eaton county pet owners.
We currently do not have a shelter. All of our pets are cared for in foster homes.
