The Chippewa County Animal Control Shelter is a county managed animal shelter. The shelter is maintained by one full-time and two part-time dedicated shelter attendants who, first and foremost, put the health and care of the dogs, puppies, cats and kittens as their primary concern. Although no public animal shelter finds it easy to maintain a no kill policy, we are VERY PROUD that we adhere to strict directives where euthanasia is concerned. The Best of Friends Humane Society, Inc. is a 501(c)3 agency as designated by the Federal government. All donations to help our homeless animals are tax exempt and NO donations are spent on administrative costs! "Best of Friends" is a no-kill shelter giving each of our beautiful companion animals all the time they need to find the perfect "forever home". Our shelter is located in a peaceful country setting surrounded by trees and tranquility where our animals are cared for and nurtured by dedicated volunteers and our shelter manager, Del Harvey and her husband, Dean. When you adopt a pet from our shelter, it will come to you with an up-to-date shot record and, if the animal is old enough, it will have been either spayed or neutered.
