Romie Cat Rescue is not a shelter, but is a small rescue providing care for feral and stray cats in Harford County, Maryland. Feral colonies are managed through TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return). The cats are provided with food and shelter and receive future veterinary care when needed. Friendly and shy stray cats and kittens are rescued, given medical care, socialized if necessary and put up for adoption. Foster cats are cared for in a home environment until loving homes are found.

Luna’s House, Inc. is a 501(c)3-pending nonprofit organization dedicated to bettering the lives of animals and their people. Luna’s House is comprised of a networkPresently, Luna’s House works with small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, and birds, as well as with cats. In the future, we will also work with dogs and perhaps even pot-bellied pigs! Because we are currently a rather small group, we cannot accommodate direct surrenders from animal guardians. Instead, we are working with other local groups and shelters to take in animals that may otherwise not get the second chance at a happy home they so deserve.

The Animal Welfare Society is primarily a low cost spay and neuter center. Our licensed veterinarians normally work at local animal hospitals, but have opened up their hearts and volunteer their services to us, which in turn keep costs down. This non-profit facility receives no government funding.

Second Chance Cat Rescue is run by volunteers and is supported by donations. All donations are tax deductible and all moneys received are used for veterinary care, food and advertising for the adoptions of the cats. Volunteers foster the cats while they await new homes. This allows for an evaluation of the cats social behavior and health. Volunteers then match prospective adopters with cats that will fit in well in their homes. Second Chance Cat resuce screens all potential adopters carefully.
