particularly compassion for domestic animals. The foundation's purpose includes five components:
1. Develop a "euthanasia free" rescue and adoption program by arranging a network of foster care homes for owner-abandoned and stray companion pets as well as adoptable pets that are on death row at shelters and humane societies.
2. Reduce animal over-population by funding and administering an aggressive neutering and spaying program that offers low cost and grant funded options so everyone who needs to alter their pet has the opportunity.
3. Develop in adults and children an understanding of the responsibility people hold toward animals and the training to carry out this responsibility through continued educational programs.
4. Establish a trust fund for the building and management of an animal sanctuary and finding a location for it.
5. Provide supplies and money to pre-approved 501(c) 3 animal shelters to assist when cash flow deficiencies arise.

The Animal Rescue League was first known as Henry County Friends of Animals. The group formed another group called Animal Rescue League.
The group was formed when the local dog catcher was caught on video shooting dogs and leaving them to suffer until they died or buried them alive. Before you ask, the dog catcher did not get into trouble for this act.
The group orignally took over the shelter. It had to be closed down as it was so old. As of right now we have 2 fostor homes for our animals. We have a small group of about 7 people.

The Animal Care Society's prime purpose is to find new, caring homes for pets whose owners can no longer give them the love or care they need. We provide a "home away from home" atmosphere and access to medical care. Because our space is limited and we do not practice euthanasia, a pet's age, temperament, and health are factors we must assess before taking in any pet.
