We are a city and county funded shelter that is dedicated to public safety and animal rescue. We continue to work to control the animal population within our area, by requiring all animals adopted from our facility be spay or neutered. With this program we hope to reduce the rate of euthanasia. Our staff is always available to educate the public about the health and welfare issues of animals, and enforce cruelty and neglect laws as well as ordinances within our city and county.
We also work hard to reunite lost and stray pets with their owners and promote new and responsible pet ownership. If you lose your pet please make every effort to find them. Visit your local Animal Control Shelter and all surrounding shelters, post signs, posters with veterinarians and stores, as well as ads in the newspapers. Remember THEY depend on You.

We are a small, non-profit group of concerned citizens in a severely economically depressed area, with little community support for animal welfare. WE HAVE RECENTLY ACCEPTED ANOTHER BUILDING WITH CATS TO BE CARED FOR FROM LYONS FERAL CAT GUARDIANS WITH 15 CATS!! PLEASE HELP US CONTINUE THEIR CARE!!! While there are so many uwanted animals to help, we do NOT simply hand out pets. We take them into our hearts and homes and care greatly about their future. We do this because we care and want to know that the animals we help are in the best homes possible. Toward this end, we require applications, home visits and adoption fees which, (without government funding) allow us to continue this effort. Our group consists of dedicated volunteers only with NO PAID EMPLOYEES!! EVERY DONATION GOES DIRECTLY TO HELP AN ANIMAL! We are not a shelter but we do have a cat sanctuary and our dogs are housed in foster homes. WE ALWAYS NEED DONATIONS OF ANY ANIMAL ITEMS: HEARTWORM MEDS, FLEA TREATMENT, etc., AS WELL AS MONETARY DONATIONS! WE DO NOT RECEIVE GOV'T FUNDING OF ANY SORT AND RELY ONLY ON THE KINDNESS OF ANIMAL LOVERS TO HELP US CONTINUE OUR EFFORTS!

The Humane Society of Noble County is a small shelter on the Southeast side of Kendallville. We are able to house dogs, cats, kittens and puppies. There are four employees and one manager working all week long at the shelter. Our animals are kept very clean, dry and fed. We love on them daily and give them the best possible TLC we can. They are let out of the kennels daily to run and roam free in the fenced in back yard (supervised of course). Our staff works very hard at maintaining the upmost standards for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.

The LaGrange County Animal Shelter is a small facility that serves the rural community of LaGrange County Indiana. The current shelter is very small and insufficent for the needs of the community. The shelter has two employees. We are always desperately seeking volunteers and donations. Please consider us as you decide to volunteer for community service. We are currently looking for volunteers to answer phones during shelter hours so that paid employees are able to work more with the cleaning and caring for animals. We would also like to find able bodies to volunteer on Tuesdays during the flea market season in Shipshewana to pass out volunteer applications, collect donations, and show pictures of adoptable dogs. We are able to house 20 adult dogs and several puppies. We also house cats.
