The Bluffton Animal Shelter is a joint venture of the City of Bluffton and Wells County. It has three full-time employees and receives volunteer help and financial assistance from a local group known as Friends of the Shelter. Having completed construction of the new shelter, the Friends continue their efforts to increase adoptions at the new building and also provide neuter-spay assistance to low and fixed income petowners through a fund administered by the Wells County Foundation.

The BCHS was incorporated in 1966. The current shelter was built in 1987. An extensive renovation was completed in 2000. We are the only humane organization servicing the Brown County area. The mission of the Brown County Humane Society is to be a community resource dedicated to promoting the welfare of all animals in our county. We provide temporary shelter to pets in need and promote adoption of homeless pets into loving, permanent homes. We advocate respect for animals through public education concerning responsible pet ownership. We support and promote spaying and neutering to ultimately eliminate pet overpopulation in our community.

Please consider donating to this organization if you do not want to adopt. The medical and food costs continue to rise and the number of animals continues upward as well. Small Not-For-Profit organizations like myself can not keep rescueing these unwanted without your help. Help me- keep helping them.:) Cast-A-Way Cats is a small, NOT FOR PROFIT,NO KILL,privately operated rescue organization. The shelter is my home and the cats have the run of it. Adoptions / veiwings are by appointment only. My cats are not caged, they are treated as part of the family so they get the best socialization possible. As with most rescue organizations, i am always in need of help and supplies. My wish lists grows faster than my pay checks come in. Any one care to DONATE ? I could use standard supplies like bleach, litter boxes, litter, cat food, goat chow, hay, straw, mops, paper towels & plates, and always any monetary donation goes directly into the shelter for the above named supplies and constantly growing medical bills.

Cats Haven is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing many services for our feline friends. It is a pro-life, no-kill shelter for cats and kittens who are in transition and need a home of their own. It is a non-institutional shelter so cats are not kept in cages as a rule. It is a hospice for cats whose injuries need attention before they can be adopted. Cats Haven is also a final home for cats who have outlived their owners and are in their golden years themselves.

We are a 100% volunteer, non-profit organization. We have no shelter of our own, so we foster all of our animals in our own homes until we can find them loving forever homes. We rescue our animals from the streets of Logansport (and surrounding areas) and from local kill shelters. Our goal is to educate the public about the benefits of spaying and neutering, create awareness about the consequences of breeding as we continue to save the lives of animals.
