The majority of our rescue animals are emergency cases: They have been rescued days before euthanasia at animal control, or have been taken in emaciated and covered in mange as strays, or even rescued from cars nearly hitting them. Some were even rescued from the effects of dangerous hurricanes. Unfortunately, we are currently NOT taking in any new rescues due to lack of space and finances. We bring our dogs to PETsMART on Glades and 441 in Boca Raton. We have a representative there Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4 pm. Raining Cats and Dogs will gladly come to you if you are interested in a specific dog. We also encourage fostering for the first week to see if you and your new friend are compatable.

Room for One More is a 501(c)(3) non-profit shelter for homeless, abused, abandoned animals whose time has run out at Citrus County Animal Shelter. We do not take animals from the public at the present time but hope to in the future. It is our mission to ensure that one day, all animals in Citrus County are valued as companions and have loving, "Forever Homes". We are dedicated to trying to raise the awareness of the public of the importance of spaying/neutering their pets. The Humanitarians of Florida, Inc., assist in providing low cost spay/neuter and medical services for the many animals who pass through our shelter.

Ruff Beginnings was founded in 2006. We were incorporated in 2007, and we are in the process of getting our 501(c)(3) Not-Profit Organization status. The need for more safe places for unwanted, abused and orphaned pets had become so enormous, we decided that we needed to do something to help as many of these animals as possible. We gathered the information that we needed to start a rescue and decided that even though it was going to be a lot of work, if we could save even one life it would all be worth it. We depend solely on private donations and fundraising events.

Rescued Unwanted Furry Friends is a 501© 3 corporation that was founded as a "no kill" shelter. Our mission is to stop the need for euthanization by educating the public that spaying/neutering will stop the need for animal control to the point that there will only be "wanted" pups in the world. Also, our mission includes finding loving homes with responsible people who will genuinely love their pet but understands that these dogs and pups depends on the human race for protection, shelter and most importantly love.
