Northwood Animal Hospital Good Sam Program

We are a full service veterinary hospital that is committed to helping as many sick and injured animals as we can through our Good Samaritan program. Generally, animals are brought to us by people ("Good Sams") who find them and we fix them up and adopt them out when they are healthy. All the animals we adopt out are up to date on their vaccines, have negative fecal exams, are dewormed and are flea-free. Our adoption fees are between $45 and $150 depending on the age, species and breed. We require that all pets we adopt out be spayed or neutered prior to adoption if they are old enough or that a deposit be left to ensure they will be spayed/neutered at the appropriate age. We get a lot of kittens coming through our doors and we don't always have time to list them individually so feel free to call us and check on who's up for adoption.

Big Hearts Rescue and Rehabilitation Inc.

BIG HEARTS Rescue was founded in the summer of 2007. Based in Pasco County, Florida, our non-profit organization is made up of volunteers who freely give their love, time, and support in order to rehabilitate, foster, and ultimately give a better life to needy animals. Through action and education, we hope to not only to educate the public on animal-related issues, but to help foster an atmosphere of understanding and mutual respect for the plight of needy animals. Many of our fosters are special needs and we hope you consider adopting one of them. Just one person can help make the difference for many animals that cannot help themselves.

Sheltering Hands, Inc. is an organization for pet rescue and placements in the Marion & Levy County Florida area. Many of the cats currently in our care are from rescue situations and are now in a volunteer foster network. We currently do not have a shelter building but house all of our cats in the foster network. Although we try to assist with placement of some dogs through networking with canine groups, we do not have housing facilities or foster homes currently available for dogs.
