The Levy County Animal Services is an Animal Shelter that takes in unwanted or stray pets. We are by no means a boarding facility for the general public. Animals that are housed here are pets that someone has left to roam as a strays. The policy for this facility is to hold all animals for six working days. After which time the animal may be adopted or destroyed humanely

We are a non-profit, no-kill, all-volunteer humane organization supported by donations and fundraisers. We do not receive any support or funding from any government agencies. The SPCA is in need of kennel technicians for cats and dogs, and volunteers to handle all aspects of cleaning of a shelter. There are no paid positions at the shelter. The joy and satisfaction received when helping to make a healthy environment for the animals, and from socializing with the animals, is greater than any monetary compensation

The Junior Humane Society is a non-profit, all volunteer, animal rescue group. For the past 18 years, we have taken in owner released pets so they won't be taken to the pound/animal shelter. All animals waiting for adoption are placed in foster homes. Before placing the animal in a permanent home we provide necessary vet care, including but not limited to shots, spaying and neutering. We also offer a low cost Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) to local rescue groups and people who have multiple animals, or need financial assistance.

Our goal is to place as many pets in forever homes as possible and educate our community about the importance of spaying/neutering and routine healthcare: such as yearly vaccinations, once-a-year heartworm testing and monthly heartworm prevention and flea control. We also stress the importance of microchipping your pets so that they can always find their way home!

We are your animal shelter. We take great pride in our unique philosophy which recognizes that pets and their situations are unique. In your shelter, pets are treated as individuals and their fates are not determined by rigid policies. Pets entering our adoption program remain in our care until they find a loving home. Furthermore, we are committed to treating most medical conditions, giving more pets the opportunity for life.

Since 1999 our small volunteer non-profit organization has been struggling to rescue as many strays from the surrounding counties as we can. We operate out of foster-homes with the love these animals deserve. We believe in spay/neutering, NOT euthanization. All our animals are altered to prevent more homeless animals and have appropriate vaccinations & medical done by our local veterinarians. 100% of all donations go directly to help the animals.

The South Lake Animal League was established in 1988 to help the abused, abandoned, and neglected animals of Lake County. Started on a non-existent budget by a small group of animal-lovers committed to a "no-kill" policy, the organization soon became an important presence in the growing South Lake area. In the 18 years since the organization began, the League has placed more than 2,200 animals into loving homes.
