ICRA is an all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the suffering of the abandoned cat population of Alameda and Oakland, California, through widespread spay and neuter of owned and unowned community cats, and to educate people to their plight. We provide foster homes for our rescues until we can place them into loving homes through our adoption program. We do not have a shelter. On a limited basis, we humanely trap feral cats in order to spay/neuter them before releasing them back to their colonies. On a larger scale, we provide information and education to the public to empower them to do trap, neuter, release in their neighborhoods and to socialize and to place as many cats as possible into permanent homes.
